Who We Are

She Moves Africa Films (SMAF) is a women-led African storytelling ecosystem working across film and series production, impact screenings, creative hubs, and community-based learning.

We don’t just tell African stories, we change who gets to tell them. Our work bridges art and activism, creating film and series that travel beyond screens into classrooms, communities, and policy conversations, ensuring African women and youth shape their own narratives with power, dignity, and excellence.

How We Work

Strong stories are built through strong process. We prioritise care-led and collaborative leadership, clear production practices, and responsibility to both audiences and creative teams.

This approach shapes how we lead, collaborate, and steward stories from development through impact. We believe in "Pamoja We Rise", rising by lifting others through mentorship and ethical production standards.
